A student of Plateau State Polytechnic identified as Priscilla, has died from injuries sustained during a deadly Fulani attack on Heipang community in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The attack which occurred on April 1, 2026, saw assailants invade the community in the early hours, opening fire on residents and leaving multiple casualties. Among those killed in the initial assault was another student, Gloria, while several others, including Priscilla, were seriously injured.
Priscilla had been receiving medical treatment since the incident but succumbed to her injuries on Thursday, April 23rd 2026, after weeks of intensive care.
Her death has sparked an outpouring of grief on social media, with friends, classmates, and sympathisers taking to Facebook to mourn her and call for an end to the persistent violence in the region.
The tragic development underscores growing concerns over security in Plateau State, where recurring attacks have continued to claim lives and displace communities. Authorities are yet to issue an updated statement regarding the incident or ongoing efforts to apprehend the perpetrators.
