BREAKING:Fulani Militias Killed 17 in Benue on Easter Sunday

At least 17 Christians have been confirmed dead following a deadly attack on Mbalom community in Gwer East of Benue State Nigeria Middle belt on Easter Sunday.

The assailants invaded the community in the early hours of the day, opening fire on residents and setting several houses ablaze, causing panic and widespread destruction.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers operated for hours without immediate resistance, forcing many residents to flee into nearby bushes for safety. As of the time of filing this report, several persons remain unaccounted for, while search efforts continue.

Sources within the community disclosed that the death toll may rise as more bodies are being discovered in surrounding areas. Survivors have been left devastated, with many homes destroyed and families displaced.

Authorities are yet to release an official statement regarding the incident, but residents have called for urgent intervention by security agencies to prevent further attacks.

The incident has heightened tensions in Benue State, where communities have repeatedly raised concerns over insecurity and attacks on rural settlements.

Community leaders have urged both the state and federal governments to strengthen security presence in vulnerable areas and ensure the protection of lives and property.
