The candidate of the Accord Party, Ademola Adeleke, has won the Osun State governorship election with 511,067 votes.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Adeleke the winner during the final collation of results in Osun State on Sunday, August 16, 2026.
Adeleke defeated the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Oyebanji, who secured 444,815 votes, according to the final results announced by the electoral commission.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate came third with 17,180 votes, while the African Action Congress (AAC) polled 1,458 votes.
INEC said 2,339,544 voters were registered for the election, while 1,010,684 voters were accredited to participate in the exercise.
The declaration followed the completion of results collation from the 30 local government areas of the state, formally returning Adeleke as the winner of the keenly contested governorship election.
With the final declaration, Adeleke secures the mandate to lead Osun State for the next administration, subject to any legal challenge that may arise from the election.
