United States President Donald Trump has threatened to unleash 1,000 missiles on Iran if Tehran attempts to assassinate him.
Trump issued the warning in a social media post on Saturday amid escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran.
“1,000 missiles are locked and loaded and aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Trump declared, adding that thousands more would immediately follow if the Iranian government acted on alleged threats against his life.
The US president said military orders had already been issued, warning that American forces were “ready, willing and able” to launch a prolonged campaign against Iran.
Trump further threatened to “completely decimate and destroy” areas of Iran, saying the military directive would remain in force for one year and could be extended.
The threat marks a dramatic escalation in hostilities between the United States and Iran as tensions continue to grip the Middle East.
