Plateau State University Bokkos (PLASU) has announced a new extended registration deadline for returning students for the 2024/2025 academic session, reflecting the university’s commitment to student needs. This extension comes in response to requests from the Students Union Government (SUG) and was communicated by the registrar, Mr. Yakubu F. Ayuba.
The new deadline is now set for December 4, 2024, allowing an additional grace period beyond the initial deadline of November 28, 2024. This decision aims to empower students by providing them with more time to complete their registration, ultimately facilitating a smoother process and minimizing potential penalties.
Students need to be aware that any registrations completed after the December 4 deadline will incur a late registration fee of N10,000 for submissions made between December 5 and December 12, 2024. The university has stated that December 12 will be the final cutoff, beyond which additional penalties will be enforced in accordance with university regulations.
In response to the financial considerations of students, PLASU has introduced flexible payment options, allowing for either partial or full fee payments.
SUG President Donald Yaksuk expressed appreciation for the university administration’s understanding and noted how this extension helps address the financial and logistical challenges many students face. “We are grateful to the management for their responsiveness. This extension is essential for ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to complete their registration without stress,” Yaksuk stated.
The university encourages all returning students to take advantage of this extended deadline and emphasizes the importance of staying informed about the revised timeline to maintain their academic progress.
This initiative highlights PLASU’s dedication to fostering a supportive academic environment while adhering to established policies and standards, ensuring that all students can thrive.
