Omoyele Sowore has urged President Bola Tinubu to take advantage of adult education and return to primary and secondary school over the educational details submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Sowore made the remarks on Monday 3rd August 2026 after his defamation trial involving Tinubu at the Federal High Court in Abuja, where he criticised the President for omitting his primary and secondary school qualifications from the personal particulars submitted to INEC for the 2027 presidential election.
The African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Sowore alleged that Tinubu only presented a certificate from , which he claimed differed from the document submitted during the 1999 elections.
“President Tinubu didn’t go to primary and secondary school. He only presented a paper from Chicago State University, which was different from the paper he presented in 1999,” Sowore said.
He added that it was not too late for the President to enrol in adult education, suggesting he should return to primary school through an online programme.
The comments followed recent reports that Tinubu’s educational details submitted to INEC for the 2027 presidential election did not include information on his primary and secondary school qualifications.
The matter has continued to generate political debate, while no official response from the Presidency was included in the proceedings reported on Monday.
