The Federal Government has arraigned three suspects before the Federal High Court in Abuja over the abduction of pupils and teachers of a school in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The suspects, identified as Abdulrazak Umar, also known as Abu Khalifa; Yunusa Musa; and Shamsu Adamu Sani, also known as Abu Itisar, were brought before Justice of the Federal High Court on a 10-count charge bordering on terrorism, kidnapping, concealment of information, incitement, and illegal mining.
The prosecution accused the defendants of conspiring with other individuals between January and May 2026 to abduct schoolchildren and teachers, alleging that they were linked to Darul Salam, an Ansaru-affiliated terrorist group.
The charges followed the abduction of pupils and teachers from the school, an incident that sparked nationwide concern and intensified security operations in the area.
The arraignment came days after a joint operation by security agencies rescued 44 pupils and teachers who had spent 56 days in captivity.
Two teachers were reportedly killed during the period the abductors held them.
The Federal Government has continued its crackdown on individuals suspected of involvement in terrorism and kidnapping activities across the country.
