Laven Denty Jacob, the lawmaker representing Pankshin South in the Plateau State House of Assembly, has regained his freedom after being abducted on Monday night.

Jacob was taken from his residence in Anguwan Kagji, Dong community, Jos North Local Government Area.

Confirming the development on Wednesday to newsmen, the Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Hon. Kwarpo Sylvanus, said the legislator had been reunited with his family.

According to Sylvanus, “he has been successfully released but we are yet to ascertain whether any ransom was paid. All we know is that he was released yesterday night.”

He added that the lawmaker was hale and hearty and thanked security agencies and residents for their swift intervention. Sylvanus also urged citizens to remain security conscious, report suspicious movements, and form vigilante groups to support formal security efforts.

“We the legislators will continue to advocate laws that will strengthen security architecture in the state,” he assured.

The abduction of Jacob occurred barely ten days after a corps member and a University of Jos student were kidnapped in the same area, underscoring growing security concerns in Plateau communities
