At least 11 people were reportedly killed after Boko Haram terrorists invaded Zaranga village in Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The attack occurred in the early hours of Monday 7th September 2026, according to residents who spoke with Journalist by telephone.
A resident, who plead for anonymity, said the terrorists invaded the community, shooting residents and setting houses ablaze.
“For now, 11 dead bodies have been recovered. Many people are still missing. Search teams and security personnel are in the forest searching for the missing people,” the resident said.
Another resident said his wife and two other family members were among those killed during the attack.
“My wife and two of my family members were also killed during the early morning invasion of my village,” he said.
The reported attack has left several residents missing, with search teams and security personnel conducting operations in surrounding forest areas to locate them.
Several calls were made to contacted the Adamawa State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, several times for confirmation, but he did not respond to the calls.
As of the time of filing this report, the police spokesperson had yet to respond to requests for confirmation of the reported killings.
