You Can Only Kill My Flesh Not My Spirit and Soul — Rev. Dachomo Rejects Fresh Death Threats

The Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has vowed not to be intimidated by fresh death threats allegedly issued against him.

Dachomo disclosed the threat during another mass burial for 3 victims of a recent attack in Barkin Ladi on Thursday 6th August 2026, declaring that he was unafraid of death because his life remained in God’s hands.

The outspoken cleric said those threatening his life might be able to harm his physical body, but could never destroy his spirit and soul.

“You can only kill my flesh, not my spirit and soul,” Dachomo said, while reaffirming his determination to continue speaking out against violence and the killing of innocent people.

The cleric, who later shared details of the incident on his X platform on Friday, alleged that the renewed threats against him and members of his family were linked to his recent appeals to United States President Donald Trump and the international community to intervene over the worsening insecurity in Plateau State.

Dachomo has repeatedly called for greater international attention to attacks affecting communities in Plateau, particularly what he described as the alleged systematic targeting and displacement of Christian communities by Islamist extremists and armed groups.

Despite the threats, the COCIN regional chairman maintained that he would not be silenced, insisting that his faith in God remained stronger than his fear of death.

His latest comments come amid renewed concerns over the security of vulnerable communities in parts of Plateau State and growing calls for stronger protection of civilians.
