In a petition dated October 15, 2025, and addressed to the Acting Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Senator Anyanwu denied authorizing the controversial communication, insisting that his signature was fraudulently copied and affixed without his consent.

He has since petitioned the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force, and INEC, demanding a full investigation into what he described as a criminal act.

Anyanwu alleged that those responsible for the forgery may include individuals within the PDP, working in collaboration with some officials of INEC. He called for all persons involved to be identified and prosecuted.

According to him, copies of both the allegedly forged document and his official petition to INEC have been released for public verification.

“My signature was cloned and used without authorization. This is forgery and impersonation. I urge the relevant security and electoral agencies to investigate and ensure justice is done,” Anyanwu stated.

The revelation has stirred tension within the PDP as the party prepares for its forthcoming national convention.
