On April 5, 2025, around 9:40 AM, the Plateau State Command of the Nigerian Police Force successfully seized 500 rounds of 7.5mm ammunition, thanks to valuable intelligence that prompted officers to conduct a focused raid on a suspected criminal hideout along Bauchi Road in the Jos North Local Government Area.
In addition to the ammunition, law enforcement recovered an ash-colored Golf Wagon with the registration number JJ 812 AH during this operation.
During a press briefing at the command headquarters on April 6, 2025, Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, psc, shared these developments and reaffirmed the commitment of the police force to upholding law and order, reducing crime, and fostering peace throughout the Plateau region.
In light of a recent incident of culpable homicide reported on May 3, 2025, Adesina highlighted the swift action being taken to investigate the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event. This responsiveness has played a role in the successful recovery of the ammunition as well.
These accomplishments reflect the Nigerian Police Force’s dedication to proactively addressing crime and ensuring the safety and security of the community. Adesina encouraged citizens to trust in the police’s initiatives, stating, “We are making diligent efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and retrieve their operational weapons.” He also stressed the vital role of community collaboration in gathering essential intelligence to support these efforts.
