The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Hon. Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro, has described the affirmation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries as a strong and encouraging signal of unity within the party, saying the atmosphere at the exercise reflected confidence, order, and renewed political momentum.

Dr. Doro spoke shortly after participating in the exercise at the ward collation centre in Kimakpa Ward, Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State, where APC members gathered to reaffirm their support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
He said the process was peaceful and well-organized, adding that the turnout and enthusiasm of party members showed that the APC remained committed to its internal structures and political goals.
“The atmosphere was positive, orderly, and full of excitement,” the Minister said. “I am pleased to be part of this process, and I am confident about the outcome. The support shown here reflects trust in the President’s leadership and belief in the direction of the party.”

According to him, the reaffirmation demonstrated that party members remained united behind Tinubu despite pressure from opposition groups. He said the exercise also showed that APC stakeholders in Plateau State were determined to strengthen the party’s base from the ward level upward.
Dr. Doro praised the party faithful for maintaining discipline throughout the process and urged members to remain committed to the APC’s wider vision. He said the confidence displayed by participants was a sign that the party remained politically relevant in Bassa and across Plateau State.
He also pointed to President Tinubu’s economic reforms, saying they would play a major role in building public support ahead of the next general election. The Minister said the administration’s policies, though difficult in the short term, were beginning to reshape the economy and would influence voters positively in 2027.
“I believe the President is on course,” Doro said. “The reforms he has introduced will speak for him. His achievements and commitment to national recovery will help secure victory in 2027.”
At the ward collation centre, Yusuf Mwa Nze, who addressed party members and journalists, said more than 900 registered APC members took part in the exercise and affirmed support for President Tinubu as the party’s presidential candidate for 2027.
Nze said the exercise recorded peaceful participation and reflected the strength of the APC in Kimakpa Ward. He said the turnout of 907 registered members showed that the party still enjoyed strong grassroots backing in the area.
“The election is peaceful and well conducted,” Nze said. “Nine hundred and seven registered members of our great party have affirmed their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be the APC presidential candidate in 2027.”
He added that the large turnout demonstrated loyalty to the party and confidence in Tinubu’s leadership. According to him, the exercise also showed that APC members in the ward remained organized and ready to mobilize ahead of future elections.
The APC ward chairman and Councilor, expressed similar confidence in the President’s chances in both the ward and the local government area. He said the party would work to deepen its reach and consolidate its support base before 2027.
“We have confidence that Tinubu will win this ward and the local government,” he said. “We will continue to strengthen the party and ensure that our members remain united behind the President.”
He said the party structure at the ward level was intact and that members would begin sustained grassroots mobilization to secure victory in the next election. According to him, the APC must continue to engage residents through dialogue, outreach, and political organization.
Also speaking, Daniel Odo Mwa said the ward leadership remained determined to deliver Bassa for the President in 2027. He said APC leaders in the area would go from door to door to mobilize voters and explain the party’s message to residents.
“We have confidence in the President, and we believe he will win the 2027 election,” Mwa said. “We shall go door to door to ensure victory for the President in 2027.”
Mwa said the party’s strength would depend on sustained contact with the people and constant engagement with voters at the grassroots. He said the APC would continue to build support through local structures and loyal party members.
In the same vein, ward councilor Hon. Danladi Rigye called on the electorate to support the Minister and vote for Tinubu again in 2027. He said the President’s victory would also reinforce confidence in the work of Minister Doro, whom he described as an important figure in the administration.
Rigye said the people of the ward should remain loyal to the APC and support the party’s leadership at every level. He added that Tinubu’s return in 2027 would allow the Minister to continue serving in the federal cabinet and advance the goals of the administration.
Political observers in the area said the reaffirmation exercise in Kimakpa Ward reflected the APC’s efforts to consolidate support ahead of the next general election. They noted that the party’s leaders were using ward-level mobilization to strengthen loyalty and maintain a visible presence among voters.
For Dr. Doro, presidential Primaries served as both a political test and a show of force for the APC in Bassa. He left the venue expressing confidence that the party’s unity, its grassroots structure, and Tinubu’s policy agenda would shape the political battle ahead.
As party members dispersed from the collation centre, the message from the ward leadership remained clear: the APC intends to stay organized, expand its reach, and build momentum for President Tinubu’s 2027 campaign from the ground up.
