The Plateau State Police Command has arrested a 16-year-old social media user who allegedly posted a viral video inciting chaos and unrest in the state, alongside 21 suspected members of the notorious “Sara-Suka” cult syndicate terrorizing the Jos-Bukuru metropolis.

In a press release issued on Saturday 21st March 2026, the command confirmed that operatives apprehended Mohammed Shuaibu Adam, 16, who is believed to be the originator of the incendiary TikTok video posted via the handle @townboii1. His accomplice, Auwal Ilyas Abdullahi, 19, both residents of Rikkos, Jos, was also taken into custody.

The video, which surfaced earlier this month, showed the young man making threatening remarks after a period of fasting, sparking widespread alarm across the state. According to police statements, both suspects confessed to the crime during interrogation and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.

The arrests are part of a broader crackdown ordered by the Commissioner of Police, CP Bassey Ewah, psc(++), FCAI, MSPSP, to ensure a peaceful Ramadan celebration in the state. The Commissioner directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical Team Commanders to intensify patrol and raid operations within their jurisdictions.

Acting on those orders, operatives arrested 21 suspected members of the Sara-Suka cult syndicate—a group known for unleashing violence on innocent citizens in the Jos metropolis. The suspects are currently undergoing thorough investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and will soon be charged to court.

CP Bassey Ewah praised the gallant efforts of the officers involved, urging them to sustain the momentum in flushing out criminal elements from the state. He called on the good people of Plateau State to remain calm and go about their daily activities without fear.

“The Command under my watch is capable and committed to ensuring the safety of all Plateau citizens,” CP Bassey stated.

The development has been hailed by residents who see the swift action as a strong deterrent against individuals or groups seeking to disrupt the peace of the state.
