A dark cloud has fallen over the University of Jos community as eight students have tragically lost their lives in a ghastly accident that occurred around 2:00am along Zaria Road.
Reports indicate that the students were returning from an occasion organised by the National Association of Plateau State Students (NAPSS) University of Jos Chapter when their vehicle was hit by a trailer, leading to the devastating loss.
Among the victims are the Social Science Students Association (SOSSA) President and the National Association of Plateau State Students NAPSS President.
The University community is in deep mourning as friends, colleagues, and loved ones struggle to come to terms with the heartbreaking news.
“According to Dominic Dantala one of the survivors from arts education department faculty of education said we were coming back from Napss welcoming special so we enter two buses one for the male and the other one for the female unfortunately for the male bus a trailer come from no where and crush over them. He sustained virtually no injuries while others had their body parts dismembered and heads broken.

We pray for the peaceful repose of their souls and strength for their families and the entire University of Jos community during this painful time.
